Election Day Thoughts.

According to Christian tradition Jesus once told a story about a man who was beaten, robbed, and left for dead at the side of the road. Several respected members of the community passed by, but did nothing to help, as they had more pressing matters to attend to.
Finally a Samaritan passed by––an immigrant––a member of a people viewed with contempt. The Samaritan, took the man home, bound up his wounds, and sent him on his way with with some money.
This is the origin of the expression: the Good Samaritan; the person who stops to help at a time of need.
So, American democracy has been beaten, robbed, and left for dead at the side of the road. If you don’t vote you’re like the people who passed by on the other side.
I don’t care who you vote for, but please take part in the Democratic process.
It wasn’t even the Samaritan’s duty to help, and yet he helped.
It is your duty to vote.
